Tres Palos Lagoon, Acapulco

Of all the bodies of water that Acapulco has, the Tres Palos Lagoon is the one that offers the most spectacular sunsets of the entire coast.

Here you will find one of the most important natural reserves of mangroves in the Mexican Pacific, which you can tour aboard a traditional coastal boat.

Black, red and white mangroves are part of this ecosystem where hundreds of birds and reptiles coexist in an idyllic setting. The boatmen offer tours where for 2 hours you enter this fishermen's paradise.

While you listen to curious facts about the ecosystem and the local fauna, the pictures you take of this place will be perfect for your social networks and to show off this secret of Acapulco.

Acapulco charming hotels

The most iconic of Acapulco's hotels is undoubtedly the Hotel Las Brisas with its dozens of condominiums with private pools and international restaurants. Evenings here are bohemian on the terrace and with the bay as a backdrop, the stay here is unparalleled.

A secret destination is undoubtedly the Flamingos Hotel. It is a classic of Acapulco as it was the venue for meetings of Hollywood stars in the forties and fifties of the last century.

Many movies like Tarzan were filmed here as well (you can even ask to stay in this room, which is precisely called Tarzan's House).

Pay attention to the movie posters and the magnificent view of the cliffs that the hotel has. Without a doubt a postcard that will stick in your mind.

If we are talking about places to visit in Acapulco, La Quebrada is a must-see. But we recommend you live the excitement of the show from your room at the Hotel El Mirador or dining at its restaurant, which offers a wide variety of dishes and drinks that will be the delight to complement the experience of the divers.

Acapulco's cultural corridor

A couple of months ago the Fort of San Diego (today the Historical Museum) and each of the museums in this corridor were remodeled to offer a cultural panorama of great historical relevance for the people of Acapulco.

Enclosures such as the Acapulco Naval Museum, which displays models of galleons and ships with more than 18,000 pieces. This museum also tells the story of the Nao de China, a ship that brought much of what is now part of our cultural heritage; this room has very interesting bibliographic collections.

Another museum you should visit is the Museum of the Mask or the Museum of the 7 regions of the state of Guerrero with collections and circuits of urban art, as well as contemporary art.

Travel and discover the industrial colony ✈️

Industrial is a neighborhood in the north of Mexico City. As a result of the creation of this neighborhood, other neighborhoods were created in its periphery, such as: Estrella, Tepeyac Insurgentes and Guadalupe Insurgentes, Guadalupe Tepeyac and in part the Lindavista neighborhood.

It is characterized by the nomenclature of its streets, which are named after industries, factories or companies of the time, such as: Victoria, Excelsior, Necaxa, Fundidora de Monterrey, Cruz Azul, La Corona, etcetera; although it also has some streets with names of people some changed years after the creation of the colony. It is noteworthy that some of the colonia's sewers have the name of the colonia, something that does not happen with sewers of the same style.

Mexico's longest river 🤯

The longest river in Mexico is called the Rio Grande. It has a basin that covers 472000 square kilometers. It flows into the gulf and serves as a natural border with the United States. This river has a length of more than 3000 kilometers (we can compare it with the Ebro River, which has a length of 910 kilometers). The Rio Grande has its source in southwestern Colorado, in the San Juan Mountains.

In its long journey, it passes through many places in the United States and Mexico, such as Texas, Nuevo León, Piedras Negras, El Paso, Ciudad Juárez, etc. It finally flows into the Gulf of Mexico, discharging its waters into the Atlantic Ocean. In addition, the Rio Grande (also known as the Rio Grande) acts as a natural border between the United States (Texas) and the Mexican states of Chichuaha, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas. In addition, there is a very small stretch of this river that acts as a natural border between New Mexico and Texas.

YOU HAVE TO TRY IN ACAPULCO DE JUÁREZ

The best traditional dishes in Acapulco de Juárez and the best authentic restaurants that make them, recommended by industry professionals.

Green Pozole (Pozole verde)

Pozole is a soupy and aromatic Mexican stew that comes in three versions – red, white, and green, symbolizing the colors of the Mexican flag. Although there are many variations, pozole verde or green pozole is usually made with a combination of hominy, chicken or pork (or both), onions, garlic, salt, and a green sauce consisting of poblano and jalapeño peppers, green tomatoes, lettuce, radish or spinach leaves, oregano, cumin, pumpkin seeds, salt, garlic, and onions.

Enchiladas de camaron

Enchiladas de camaron is a popular Mexican dish consisting of fried tortillas filled with shrimp and various ingredients such as corn, onions, chiles, tomatoes, and coriander. These rolled tortillas are especially popular in the North Pacific and Gulf regions of Mexico, and it is recommended to serve them garnished with crema Mexicana, avocado slices, and grated cheese.

Tacos

Tacos are the national dish of Mexico, dating back to the Mexican silver mines of the 18th century, when the word taco referred to gunpowder that was wrapped in a piece of paper and inserted into rocks. It was used to excavate the precious ore from mines and was called tacos de minero or miner's tacos. Today, the word is widely known to signify the leading street food and fast food item in Mexico – thin, flat griddle-baked tortillas topped with numerous fillings, folded and eaten without any utensils.
